Faces of the Goddess
with Hilary MacRae BWY DCT, KHYF Teacher Trainer
A day of asana, pranayama, mantra and meditation honouring the female aspect of the Divine
in her different manifestations.
Saturday 24th April 2010 10.00 am to 4.00pm
A day honouring the female aspect of the Divine in her different manifestations: as Durga/Kali, consort of Shiva, the destroyer of old and destructive patterns, so new ones can emerge, as Lakshmi, consort of Visnu, she provides abundance and wealth and as Saraswati, consort of Brahma, she presides over learning and the arts. The day will consist of practices focussing on each of the three, with asana, pranayama, mantra and meditation. Ideas for home practice will be given and you will learn the Gayatri chant for each deity. The day is suitable for teachers and serious students who have some prior experience of Vedic chant and pranayama, although the asana practice will be suitable for all.
About the Teacher: Hilary MacRae is a BWY DCT and KHYF teacher and trainer and has a Masters in Sanskrit literature. She is particularly interested in the transformative power of sound and introducing meditative practices that can be done at home.
